HWMC provides social events, resources, and education to families across the north shore of Massachusetts. As a member-driven, public-spirited group, we actively invest in and work to build an uplifting and inclusive environment for our membership. While we are founded upon a recognized need to support the unique role of motherhood, we know that parenthood takes many forms and that our children and families face varying circumstances and needs. We welcome and celebrate families of every shape, size, and makeup.

Mothers’ Club Membership Offerings:

Events for Children: Participate in monthly special events which include a Halloween Parade, Easter Egg Hunt, Cookie Decorating and more like yoga classes, visits to local play spaces and meet ups with special character visits.
Events for Families: Join us for family-oriented activities like storytellers, magicians, family-friendly performances, bowling nights, movie theater rentals, pizza making parties and more. We also sponsor entertainment at the Hamilton Wenham Block Parties.
Events for Moms: Moms can attend numerous social events including monthly Mom’s Night Out Events, fitness and enrichment classes, our Book Club, and more.
Dad's Night Out: Gathering partners to connect and relax, this group also meets monthly.
Events for Parents: We also host events for couples in our membership including an Annual Kentucky Derby Party and Keg Party.
Monthly Newsletter: Stay informed with a monthly newsletter that highlights upcoming Mothers’ Club event information and other family-oriented activities nearby.
Facebook Community: Connect with other families via our members-only Facebook page which allows members to share tips, recommendations, and other information.
Playgroups for various ages: Attend weekly playgroups for babies, toddlers and an “all ages” playground meet up.
Meal Delivery by Fellow Members: Members volunteer to make meals for families that have welcomed new babies or that are experiencing hardship.
Community Outreach Donation Drives: Participate in donation drives for local charities and support local organizations through fundraising.

Founded in 1913, the HWMC has a long history of striving to enrich and give back to our communities. We support local businesses through our programming whenever possible, and through charitable giving and service we support non-profit organizations across the North Shore and are always open to new opportunities to contribute.

Welcome back! We hope everyone was able to enjoy the best of what the North Shore had to offer over the summer. The family photos and pizza picnic at Wingaersheek was such a fun way to end summer - right up until the monsoon! September always feels more like the “New Year” to me than Jan 1st: school is starting, we’re getting back into routines, things feel fresh and possible.

Your new board met recently to get started on Fall programming, and there are many good reasons to get excited! On the 11th, our new members are invited to mingle and get to know each other (if you joined since Jan 2025, you should have received an email/invite). Then, all are invited to join us for the official Kick Off Party at Alecia’s house on Sept 24th. There will be a 50/50 raffle to benefit Healing Abuse Working for Change (HAWC). This event is included in your membership and is a great way to get a night away to chat with other moms and relax a bit in the midst of all the chaos that is September. Book club has stayed strong over the summer, finishing off with the amazingly gut wrenching Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid. September’s pick, The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon will be discussed on Sept 30th. Baby Group and Toddler Group are picking back up for the 25-26 season—look for the new WhatsApp group links in the respective sections below. The WhatsApp groups are where meetups will be planned. Children’s Events is hosting an ice cream truck at the Tea House Playground with WVIS on Sept 12th, and is putting the finishing touches on an apple picking event at Russell Orchards. Be on the lookout for an Enrichment and Wellness event in mid-Sept.—our board leads are finalizing details and will send an invite. Finally, see our Civic Engagement section for Michelle’s informative summary of the upcoming ballot vote in Hamilton and Wenham on Sept 15th. As always, HWMC is working to help moms get to the polls.

We are so excited for this year! This club and the community it fosters is truly something special. As we head into the new year, we want to encourage everyone to go out on a limb: sign up for an event, chat with someone new, ask for the number of someone you connect with to grab drinks or to meet up at a playgroup, invite someone to carpool with you to the next activity. We’re all here to have fun and make friends, so go for it!
